This report from the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the London School of Economics and Political Science can help you to understand the benefits of climate adaptation measures, and especially in lower-income countries. Drawing upon nearly 300 studies, case studies from six countries, and more than 6,000 unique estimates of the consequences of climate change and adaptation investment, the report finds that low- and lower-middle-income countries are collectively already 4-12% poorer in terms of GDP per capita due to climate impacts, and that global warming of 2.5°C by 2050 - without further investments in climate adaptation and resilience - is likely to result in a further 8-18% reduction in GDP. Fortunately, the report finds that adaptation investments can yield a "triple dividend" that helps to prevent further losses, stimulate economic activity, and provide social and environmental co-benefits. This report will be especially beneficial to sustainability and risk professionals.
