This report from the Convention on Biological Diversity provides the first comprehensive global stocktake of progress towards the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Drawing on national reports, updated biodiversity strategies, scientific assessments, and diverse sources of knowledge, the report assesses progress across all 23 targets and identifies achievements, implementation gaps, and barriers. The report highlights the urgent need to accelerate action through 2030, noting that while nearly 90% of nations have established national biodiversity targets, fewer than half of assessed targets are on track. Although intended primarily for governments and policymakers, this report will also be beneficial to sustainability and risk professionals.
