Global Justice Report: A Plan for Equality & Prosperity Within Planetary Boundaries
This report from the World Inequality Lab (WIL) outlines a positive vision for the future that can help you to understand how humanity can raise living standards, reduce inequality, and keep global heating within a 2°C rise. The product of 45 authors, and based on databases compiled by more than 200 researchers from around the world, the report incorporates inequality studies, climate science, and proposals for creating a political coalition capable of reforming the world's financial architecture. It outlines several bold policy proposals, including steep increases on wealth taxes for billionaires, sharp reductions in working hours, support for positive diet changes, and shifting investment from materially intensive sectors - such as industry and mining - to health and education. Through redistribution at the world scale, reforming international financial and economic structures, transforming energy systems, shifting consumption patterns, we can double the incomes of 89% of the world’s population by 2100 and limit global heating to 1.8°C above the preindustrial average.
