This report from the United Nations Environment Programme is the most comprehensive scientific assessment of the global environment ever carried out. The product of 287 multi-disciplinary scientists from 82 countries, the report situates environmental challenges within broader socio-economic and political landscapes, while translating complex systemic data, information and knowledge into clear, actionable insights that can help your company to support positive action addressing global environmental crises. The report is divided into four parts: Part A explores the the historic, current, and projected drivers and pressures of environmental change; Part B explores the status of the environment and key trends, including for air, land and soils, oceans and coasts, and freshwater, as well as the implication of environmental crises on the SDGs and interlinkages across environmental changes, scales, and geographic regions and subregions; Part C explores system transformations and outlooks; and Part D explores solution pathways necessary to successfully address these crises through simultaneous and systemic transformation of interconnected human systems, including economics and finance, materials, energy, food, and more. The report calls on a broad range of actors to acknowledge the urgency of global environmental crises, build on progress made in recent decades, and collaborate in the co-design and implementation of integrated policies, strategies, and actions to deliver a better future for all.
