About the Embedding Project

The Embedding Project is a public-benefit research project that relies on strong social science research methods to bring together thoughtful sustainability intrapreneurs from across industries and around the world, and harnesses their collective knowledge to develop rigorous and practical guidance that benefits everyone. Our resources are licensed under Creative Commons which means you can share the resources you find most useful with your peers.

What we have done

  • We started by developing a framework for embedding sustainability that helps companies inventory, prioritize, and focus their efforts to embed sustainability.

  • We continue to work with companies to help them apply the framework while facilitating a safe space for companies and change agents to effectively and efficiently share their knowledge and ideas.

  • We are using this knowledge to develop additional embedding resources and tools that are tailored for sustainability practitioners and supported by a rigorous, longitudinal research process.

  • We built an interactive website to make it available online, for free.

Collaboration underpins all that we do. By partnering with our partner companies, our research team helps companies embed sustainability into their core strategy, their operations and their culture. Support from our partner companies, funders, and our universities and technology partners make this work possible.
